Not every wedding needs a big guest list, a packed schedule, or a full day of formalities. Some of the most meaningful weddings I’ve photographed have been the quiet ones — a handful of loved ones, a simple ceremony, and plenty of space to actually enjoy the day.

If you’re planning an intimate registry office wedding or a small micro wedding in Warwickshire, the Cotswolds, or beyond, this is for you.

Why intimate weddings feel so special...

Intimate weddings have a very different feel to them. With fewer people there, everything slows down. The focus naturally shifts to what matters most — the commitment you’re making and the handful of people who truly know you and support you, sharing that moment alongside you.

When your guest list is small, there’s no pressure to rush from one conversation to the next or spend the day greeting and entertaining. Instead, you have time. Time to be present, to take everything in, and to actually enjoy being newly married together.

Registry office and micro weddings often leave space for those in-between moments — a quiet walk afterwards, a relaxed meal with family, or simply sitting together letting it all sink in.

They’re personal, unforced, and full of genuine emotion, without the noise or expectation of a bigger day

My approach to photographing small weddings

I photograph intimate weddings in a calm, documentary way, letting moments unfold naturally rather than directing them. My focus is always on helping couples feel comfortable and at ease, especially on simple, low-key days.

There’s no pressure to perform and no forced posing. I step in gently when needed, but mostly I observe — capturing the interactions, glances, and quiet in-between moments that often mean the most.

I also make time for relaxed, beautiful portraits of the two of you. Nothing stiff or posed — just a quiet moment together, often away from everyone else, to capture something honest while you’re still soaking it all in.

Many couples tell me they felt completely at ease in front of the camera, which is exactly how I want it to feel.

Registry office & micro wedding photography

I regularly photograph weddings at registry offices, town halls, and small venues across Warwickshire and the Cotswolds, as well as further afield for couples planning something meaningful and understated.

These weddings often include:

  • A short ceremony
  • A small group of guests
  • Minimal or no formal schedule
  • Time for a photo-walk

They may look simple on paper, but they’re often full of emotion — and they deserve to be documented with just as much care as a larger celebration.

Short wedding photography packages

Because I photograph so many smaller weddings, I’ve created shorter photography packages designed specifically for intimate days.

These are ideal if you’re planning:

  • A registry office or town hall ceremony
  • A micro wedding with just close family or friends
  • A weekday wedding
  • A celebration lasting a few hours rather than a full day

The focus is always on telling the story honestly, without overcomplicating things.

"We couldn't be happier with our experience working with Scarlett as our wedding photographer! From the very beginning, she was professional, warm, and incredibly easy to work with. On the big day, she captured every moment so beautifully from the emotional candid shots to the special memories with our most favourite people. Scarlett has a true gift for storytelling through her lens, and looking through our photos feels like reliving the day all over again."
