There’s something incredibly special about photographing a couple whose story has been years in the making, and Andrew & Kaye’s wedding at Cider Mill Barns was exactly that.

Having known each other since they were teenagers, their story came full circle when they reconnected in 2018, blended their families together, and later welcomed their own child — “the final puzzle piece” as they described it. It made their wedding day feel even more meaningful, full of genuine emotion, warmth and the kind of connection you simply can’t fake.

As a Warwickshire wedding photographer, weddings at Cider Mill Barns always feel special to photograph. The venue has such a relaxed atmosphere while still feeling elegant and modern, and it’s quickly become one of my favourite local wedding venues to work at.

A Relaxed Morning Getting Ready at Cider Mill Barns

The morning of the wedding had such a calm and excited atmosphere from the very beginning. One of the things I love most about photographing weddings at Cider Mill Barns is how well everything flows throughout the day. The venue gives couples plenty of space to relax and enjoy the morning with their closest people without ever feeling rushed.

Kaye spent the morning getting ready surrounded by family and friends, with lots of laughter, emotional moments and excitement building throughout the morning. Meanwhile, Andrew was enjoying a much more relaxed start before guests began arriving for the ceremony.

The beautiful modern barns and clean interiors also make such a difference photographically — the natural light throughout the venue is incredible and perfect for capturing those timeless, natural moments that couples love.

An Emotional Ceremony Full of Meaning

Knowing their history together made the ceremony even more emotional. After years apart and finding their way back to each other, there was such a strong sense throughout the day that this wedding represented not just two people getting married, but two families becoming one.

There were so many genuine reactions during the ceremony — emotional smiles, tears from family members and those little glances between Andrew & Kaye that said everything without words. These are always the moments I’m drawn to most as a wedding photographer. The real moments. The in-between moments. The memories that actually matter years later.

Golden Hour Portraits at Cider Mill Barns

One of my favourite parts of the day was taking Andrew & Kaye out for a short walk during golden hour. The grounds around Cider Mill Barns photograph beautifully in the evening light, and because the couple were so relaxed together, everything felt effortless.

I always keep couple portraits natural and easy-going, with plenty of space for couples to simply enjoy a few quiet moments together away from the busy wedding day. Andrew & Kaye were completely themselves the entire day, and that always makes for the best photographs.

A Wedding Full of Family, Connection & Celebration

What stood out most throughout the day was how centred everything was around family. Their story already carried so much history and meaning, and you could really feel that in every part of the wedding — from the speeches through to the dance floor celebrations later in the evening.

It honestly felt less like a single moment in time and more like the celebration of a journey they had already been on together for years.
